Rural Insurance

A rural insurance policy consists of a number of different sections within the one policy. You choose which sections you want to insure. It can include domestic buildings and contents, farm property, theft, business interuption, liability, machinery breakdown, personal accident, transit and motor vehicles.

Domestic Buildings & Contents

This section is the same as available for a normal home & contents policy. Cover is available for listed events or accidental damage and includes personal liability.

Farm Property

Covers farm buildings and contents plus farm improvements such as windmills, silos, tanks and underground utilities – for current value or replacement value if you choose. Farm Machinery can be covered against fire, storm, impact, explosion and malicious acts. Cover is also available for hay, grain, livestock, fencing and working dogs.

Theft

Can cover theft of farm contents, machinery including towed implements either from locked premises at the situation or in the open air.

Business Interruption

Available for working farms for lost income as a result of damage to farm property, machinery, pastures etc.

Liability

Covers rural operations of the farm for injury to others or damage to their property. This may be caused through the use of unregistered vehicles, straying stock or the escape of fire to name a few.

Machinery Breakdown

Can choose to insure all machinery or selected items against electrical, electronic and mechanical breakdown.

Personal Accident

Provides the insured person with an income should they become incapacitated as result of an accident or illness (if selected) and are unable to work.

Road Transit

Protects livestock, produce, general farm goods and machinery against damage by fire, flood, collision while travelling by road in your vehicle.

Rural Motor Vehicle

Able to cover all rural vehicles – trucks, utilities, tractors and machinery for comprehensive cover or third party property only.

Stud Stock Insurance

Various covers available for stud cattle, rams and ewes, goats and alpacas. Can provide cover for death due to accident, illness or disease, loss of use as a result of an accident or due to illness or disease.

Crop Insurance

Can provide for a variety of crop types for perils such as hail or fire.
